I live in Lisbon, Portugal.
- Which method / technique do you use?
I've tried so many techniques but at this moment I've been using ProCreate and I'm loving it. It is easy to try every color, brush, or shape that you've imagined. I'm addicted to it. Still, I always prefer to use the brushes with texture and irregularities, so that I can give to my pieces a feeling of three-dimensionality.
- How would you describe your style / designs?
I find my designs always very happy and colorful, and even a little bit kitsch for the purpose of bringing a little bit of nostalgia. Most of the time I follow my mood and let it create, or at least to start the creation. I'm obviously very inspired by flowers and patterns, as you can see.
- How / why did you start with art?
I was blessed to know since I was a kid that this was what I like to do, where I felt good. This was it. I liked creating, whatever it was. Still to this date I like to try several fields and don't know yet what I love the most.
Inspiration for me it's everywhere. It's in my state of mind mostly, people's houses, shapes, movies, songs, memories. What I like most to create are non-realistic shapes because it plays with our most fanciful and creative side, it encourages people to make their own ideas about what they witness.
- Do you have a message with your art?
I think my art doesn't have a specific purpose or message, because it doesn't focus on just one theme. I think that my attempt for anyone who comes across one of my creations is to get out of their routine a little bit, or to question themselves, that I doubt they even understood the message. Above all, right now I know that I'm in a phase where I like to paint things that are considered beautiful, that influence us in a positive way at least, because sometimes that's all we need. Sometimes we need to be surrounded by beautiful things, and art is amazing for that very reason, because it influences our mood. One of the few things we have some control over is the environment around us, and my effort is to be able to contribute so that this space is well filled.
- What do you think your art can add to a home?
Happiness, confort, and some fantasy too. I think life's too short for us to spend a lot of the time surrounded by white walls, telling nothing about ourselves.
