Artist: Connor Arnold
I live in the UK in Kent, just outside of London.
- Which method/technique do you use?
I like to blend contemporary and traditional techniques. My work tends to start life as felt-tip drawings of shapes and forms. Then I like to cut them up, collage them together and play around with them on Photoshop – that's where the real magic happens!
- How would you describe your style/designs?
I'd say my style is colourful, geometric and imperfect. I like to explore shape and form in a way that feels fun to me!
- How / why did you start with art?
I studied art all throughout school and my degree is in Illustration. I've always loved making things, it's only in the last few years that I've started it taking it seriously.
I think I'm most inspired by colour. I love artists that play with colour like David Hockney. Or animators like Oskar Fischinger. Colour is always the starting point for my work.
- Do you have a message with your art?
My work usually depicts abstract houseplants, vases or shapes - I’m a little obsessed!
- What do you think your art can add to a home?
Hopefully my work can inject some colour and fun into a person’s home. I always want my work to make people smile :)
